Caring for Yourself

Leading our lives under variant day to day pressure and uncertainties very often leaves us careworn and it is quite natural. From the fear of running out time of while on the way to office, to the nags of your loved ones for not being able to manage some time to ask for their well-beings, from the frustration of not getting the desired hike/ promotion or recognition at your office to the irritation of missing your favorite TV show at home, gives birth to an unsatisfied you somewhere. You do start writing an email, but end surfing the internet uselessly. You think of joining a gym to shape yourself up, but feel too lazy to make a call for an appointment.

If you face these things in your life, you need to take some time out for yourselves. After all, charity begins at home. Here are some of the ways to give yourself the required boost to regain your lost fervor and will make you find tune with the life.

  • START YOUR DAY with having a glass of lukewarm water. Studies suggest that our body needs to regulate its temperature around 98.6 degree, and drinking cold water needs to burn out some calories to maintain the temperature. So quite obviously, some droughts of lukewarm water can help you save those calories and purify your body by removing the unwanted toxins. It will make you feel fresh and energetic.

Go for a morning walk, if you can and if you can't, don't worry, have a stroll on the roof and let the morning breeze unwind your worries.

  • LEARN TO SAY NO- If you feel it difficult to say NO, you burden yourself with unwanted activities which eat up your leisure time and finally make you hurry all the time. Remember, when we strive to save minutes, we actually had already spoiled hours. But yes! Learn to recognize the necessities.

  • KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR DIET- Its not important how much you eat; what you eat makes a difference. Try your best to include all the nutrients in your diet. It goes without saying that one needs to have the proper diet to make the system of body run smoothly. Once you are sure of your healthy diet, even this thought leaves an positive impact and makes you feel sound inside.
  • LOOK YOUR BEST- Looking beautiful or handsome is something not within the reach of every one of us, but we can look our best. Keep yourself spruce and neat. Now looking best does not mean putting on fashionable attires and wearing expensive make-ups.
  • GIVE YOURSELF A REWARD- Whenever you succeed at doing what you always longed for, give yourself a reward. Seen a child getting beyond him/herself to get his/her favorite present at the Birthday? Truly, we still have a child somewhere in our heart even today. Give it a wing to fly by rewarding.
  • DON'T IGNORE THE SMALL HAPPINESSES- Yesterday you felt like enjoying the rain, but you thought you would catch a cold and you abstained from it. But why don't think, it could have given you the peace of mind that millions can't buy. Don't hold your emotions all the time; learn to enjoy the greater happinesses in small packages too.
  • SAVE SOMETIME FOR YOUR HOBBIES- Manage to get sometime for your hobbies. They help you keep those stresses at bay. It enhances your efficiency. So if you like listening to songs or dancing let your toes dance on the rhythm.
  • GET THE SLEEP OF 6 TO 8 HOURS- The sleep of 6 to 8 hours is necessary to give you a fresh mood when you wake up. Watch out for your sleeping arrangements; keep the surrounding peaceful to give yourself a sound sleep. Avoid taking any nicotine product while going to sleep.
  • MAINTAIN PROPER TIMINGS FOR YOUR MEAL- Stick to your meal timings and do skip your meals. However opting for a full day fast every month or fortnight is supposed good for the digestive system.

Getting Ready for the Interview

Many of us don't take it seriously while going for an interview. We do what we manage to do at the eleventh hour, and after getting a 'NO' from the selection, we wonder as to what went wrong. Just answering the questions put forth by the interviewer is not all, on the contrary there are a number of things which seeks our slight attention before leaving for the interview. Some of them are:

1. Your Dressing Sense: To be quite honest, trying to look beautiful or handsome might mean picking a quarrel with the Nature, yet we may strive to look smarter, and that is within our reach.

So your dressing sense has to do a lot with the result of the interview. Remember your dressing sense can make or mar your first impression. So you need to be a bit careful while selective your dress. You might have noticed some guys/girls dressed up very casually in an interviews for BPOs and still they succeed in getting the final selection. Being casual is acceptable but to a very negligible extent. I would advise you not to imitate them as most of the HR Managers have now begun taking a candidate's appearance into account.

For Boys

Be dressed up in a full sleeve shirt, avoid using half-sleeve as it does not go with your executive image. Opt for the white colour if you can manage as it is the safest and best colour for shirts.

Choose a formal pant/trousers of dark colour which make a good combination with the light coloured shirts. You may wear a tie if you think you are comfortable with it otherwise say a no to it.

Your belts should match with your shoe-colour.

Black is most advisable colour for your socks and if not black you may select a pair socks which go well with your complete attire.

I would say not to wear jewellery if it is not very much necessary. A wedding ring or a wrist watch is acceptable.

Keep your hair clean and properly washed. Make a side portion if not sure how to manage it. Don't make it spunky or scattered which may need the touch of fingers time and again.

For Girls

Girls can go for a two/three-piece business suit, it will be more advisable if you could manange formal shirts and a pair of trowsers making a colour combination light and dark. Please dont use sleevless shirts in any case. For those who would like to put on skirts, remember not to put on too long like skirts like a Barn-Dance Girl and not too small. A short skirt should at least fall up to 2 or 3 inches below your knees.

I would adivse not to use panty-hose or stockings, as it is not wide-spread in India even today. But yes, if you are comfortable with it, it will help you build a professional grooming.

Go for dark coloured shoes with the heel ranging up to 2 inch.

Keep your hair tied back, don't let it fall at the front. Avoid using many hair accessories.

Wear no make-ups as simplicity helps your natural look come out. A light lips and nails colouring is acceptable.

Abstain from studding yourself with jewelleries. And if you can't help wearing them, don't go for clanky jewelleries which make sound when you move.

Your handbag should blend with your complete attire and if you have not many options for it, match it with your shoe colour.

2. Your first appearance before the interviewer.
3. The body language
4. The way to answer a question
5. Your Resume

"And that Sentence changed my life completely and gave me a way to lead my life ahead" ; well, I read this sentence yesterday while skimming through the biography of a well-known author.  This is not a quaranteed truth, yet I think, there might me a line or a sentence or a thought which may impact your life immensely. To be quite honest, who knows you come across them just here. So read the quotes... Best of luck!

Success Ins and outs

The word 'success' has been defined by many scholars and it has really been a matter of debate from the time immemorial. I have read so many articles on 'success', recently I happened to go through " You can win" by Shiv Khera", he has taken reference to so many great scholars and has compiled a very good collection of fruitful thoughts... in the book a line says...." Success does not mean absence of failure, it means the attainment of ultimate objective. It means winning the war not every battle".

One the greatest scholars has quoted..." Success is the progressive realisation of worthy goal". In a very meaningful, easier but extensive way..." Success means getting what you want".

Personally I agree at all these thoughts and definitions but at the same I want to add a very valuable thing to it i.e. we should not try to gain success, we must achieve success it. Because what you gain is transitory and ephemeral, but what you achieve is everlasting. When you gain something you use mind and body, and you what have finally is something materialistic only, when you achieve something you use your mind, body and soul and what have finally is the feeling of winning. You know what I think is ...you can gain a thing even without putting your best or putting nothing... but you cannot achieve achieve a thing without putting effort, you have no other way to go... you will have to put your mind, your body and most importantly your soul together...and if you get these things with you... the whole universe will bend to and move away to give the way... you will be there where you want.

Thanks

Call Cetres; An Overview

What is a Call/Contact centre ?
=> A call centre or contact centre is a physical location where calls are placed or received to handle the querries or the problems related to some particular product of an particular organization. In other words by making a call to a call cetre one can have a cleare idea and solution to the problem about the product or service concerned.
What is BPO ?
=> BPO stands for Business Process Outsourcing. BPO is the industry which does the outsourced business. Let's take an example to make it more clear -- an organization "A Ltd.", a mobile service provider, gives organization "B Ltd." the authority to handle it's customercare operation for some particular returns under some terms and conditions. Thus it'll be said that "A Ltd" outsourced a process of business to "B Ltd". Here, B Ltd. will do the outsourced business.
Is there any difference between BPOs and Call Centres ?
=> Yes. These two terms are very often confused to be the same in India. Because, most of BPOs India deal with the call centres only. In fact, a call centre may be or may not be the part of BPO. If an organisation does not outsource it's operation of call centre, on the contrary it handles it itself, the call centre won't be called a part of BPO.
BPO and India.
=> It has not been even a decade since the BPO industry started spreading it's feet in India and it hits the headlines everyday. In a such short period India has become the most sought after BPO destination in the world.
If we refer to "The Times of India", an article plublished on 2nd Novemver 2006 says " Indian cities led by Delhi's national capital region have the top seven lots in a globle ranking of competitiveness of cities as outsourcing destinations in the world, according to study conducted by US based consultancy firm neoIT".
As a matter of fact, India has for a superb outsourcing destination i.g. - availability of fairly large and qualified pool of work-force, better infrastructure langauge proficeincy cheaper labour etc.
What does this industry can provide to the individuals with it ?
=> The industry provides everything the individuals associated with it which an employee can look for. The industry offers a state of art infrastructure, amiable work environment, excellent growth opportunities and above all a handsome take home salary.
